The Garmin GPS satellite navigator is one of the most inexpensive handheld GPS receivers in the market today. Just like its more costly rivals, it can use the WAAS system, allowing accuracy to within three meters, so that its low cost does not necessarily mean less precision.
The Garmin GPS 60 is perfect for you if you’re still new to using GPS devices. It has relatively few buttons that make its operation almost intuitive. Furthermore, because of its durability and reliability, many users prefer the Garmin GPS 60 to other fancier models. This hand-held GPS model can stand all kinds of weather and is proven to be totally waterproof – a trait that a lot of the more expensive models do not have. Basically, the Garmin GPS 60 is a perfect mix of durability, accuracy and cost.
However, as we have already stated, the Garmin GPS 60 is not the most advanced model out there. One of its biggest downsides is a 2.6-inch monochrome display, which is unable to show maps with high resolution. Another thing that most advanced users may find less-than-desirable is the lack of extended memory: the Garmin GPS 60’s memory is purely internal, which limits the amount of data that it can store.

Ideal Users

The GPS 60 from Garmin is ideal for the budget buyer who seeks solid functionality without any of the frills and extra bells and whistles.

Pros:

  • Highly accurate for precise readings
  • Durable for long term use
  • Cheap for buyers on a budget

  • Below average city map resolution.
